Laura holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in English and a Master's Degree in English focusing on historical literature (pre-nineteenth century).

She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Early American History and writing her dissertation, a biography of the Jacob and Abigaill Franks family, under the direction of Dr. Judith Ridner. Her research focuses on material culture and the family's inclusion into colonial New York society while maintaining their Jewish religious identity.
